HARRY CAREY TO-NIGHT AT THE TIVOLI
Don’t miss this thriller. The highly' dramatic scenes in Harry Carey’s new star picture, “The Man from Red Gulch,” were afford in a Kernville, in California, cabin in which occurred the murder of four members of one family in 1924. In the little shack where “Newt” Walker and ihree relatives were shot down in a feud over mining claims the cameras clicked on Carey and Frank Campeau in the feud between the partners made famous by Bret Jfarte in “The Idyll of Red Gulch.” The remaining Walker in the mining town was an- interested watcher of the picture people making the play. In the old days he went about constantly on guard, with revolver and ammunition. “Sir Lumberjack” tomorrow and a matinee.
NANCY CARROLL IN “SWEETIE” AT THE MAJESTIC
At Majestic to-night, a Paramount “Sweetie,” with a gay and youthful cast. “Sweetie” is a glad picture, true, the kind of picture that makes the audience forget the little trials and tribulations of the day. It is a story' of college. “Sweetie” tells of a girl’s, love for a young man whose ambition and thoughts in life are materialising when he is captain of his college football team. The girl through a freak will inherits the College and then things begin to hum. Nancy Carroll, Paramount red headed bundle of charm and pep, is the girl who causes all the trouble and Helen Kane, a new star in pictures, are the two featured players in the cast. Also featured are Jack Oakie, Stanley Smith, a newcomer, and William .Austin, remembered for his dude Englishman roles round off the exceptionally happy and brilliantly cast.
