GROUNDS DISCOVERED STX MILES FROM MANAWATU HEADS (Per Pres s Association) Foxton, March 20. i Captain L. Hayes, M.C., of the Marine Department, alter a- lengthy period of research and investigation, has definitely discovered the spawning grounds of the parent fish of whitebait six miles from fhe Heads in the Mamt,watu river.

Spawning takes places on the rush and reed-covered mud flats during full fide.

This discovery will probably linve a beneficial effect upon the future of the whifebait industry.
