Christchurch, inviting local farmers to become 'financially interested in the North Canterbury Sheepfarmers’ Op,-5 iprafi ire F reez llg Co., which controls the Kaiapoi Freezing Works. The request was sympathetically discussed, hut, it was pointed opt that, whilst the works might be advantageous to farmers in North Canterbury, it would he practically Useless to canvass and offer shares in the Awatserc district as the South Hand Alain Trunk railway was not yet through, and consequently there was no prospect of making sales locally.
