salvation army tricked As the result of the way jn which lie tricked the Salvation Army authorities in Auckland, Leo Collins, 25, a labourer, was sentenced in the Police Court to a month’s imprisonment.. Col 1j ns was -charhed with being idle and disorderly in that he had insufficient lawful means of support. Sergeant O’Grady said accused had recently been, discharged from Roto Roa. Island, and had been in Andrian dever since. He bad apparently no place, to go. Captain Holmes, of the Salvatjou Army said when accused -left the island 'last week hie was given an order to obtain a railway ticket- to Dupedin. He at once tried to obtain a refund of money from the Railway Department on tlie ticket. Witness saw accused later and bought him a ticket on condition that he left last; Wednesday evening for the south. Accused, however, refused to go. The Magistrate, Air F. K. Hunt, imposed a sentence of .one month’s imprisonment. .
