Mr Owen McElroy relumed to Auckland yesterday from Samoa, Mr L. J. Wild, Director of the Agricultural High' School, is visiting Canterbury. Downer have returned to Feilding after spending a 12 months’ holiday in England, Scotland and the Continent of Europe. Miss Downer also returned to New Zealand with her parents, and is staying with her brother, Air Arnold Downer, at Khandallah. • Very real sympathy is felt for Air E. H. Fisher and family in the serious illness which has befallen' that gentleman. It has been found necessary to amputate Air Fisher's leg below the knee, the operation having been performed in the Feilding private, hospital. Air Fisher, though naturally suffering from the effects of the operation, is making satisfactory progress, and is facing up to his misfortune with ..cheerfulness.
