Mr Owen McElroy relumed to Auckland yesterday from Samoa, Mr L. J. Wild, Director of the Agricultural High' School, is visiting Canterbury. In the Wellington competitions last night Rjllio Shannon was second with 00 points in recitation in character hoys under 12 years. “Teddy” Roberts, the former All Black footballer, who recently contracted pleurisy and pneumonia', is, making satisfactory progress towards recovery. Mr Tims. Hoult, formerly o? Aorangi, whi is nmv residing at Bondman, near Auckland, was at the Feilding horse sale yesterday, and made, some purchases. Mr and Mrs H. Downer have returned to Feilding after spending a 12 months’ holiday in England, Scotland and the Continent of Europe. Miss Downer also returned to New Zealand with her parents, and is staying with her brother, Air Arnold Downer, at Khandallah. • Very real sympathy is felt for Air E. H. Fisher and family in the serious illness which has befallen' that gentleman. It has been found necessary to amputate Air Fisher's leg below the knee, the operation having been performed in the Feilding private, hospital. Air Fisher, though naturally suffering from the effects of the operation, is making satisfactory progress, and is facing up to his misfortune with ..cheerfulness.
