’.Merchants in Cliristchnrch are asked at times for produce well outside their .regular lines of trading, ettd it i s rarely that the requests cannot bo met from Rome part or another of tlie Dominion. The last Sydney mail, however, brought one merchant an enquiry lor a must unusual line.
,f As we deal largely in tomato pulp,” the communication stated, "we would like to know if there is any offered for sale in New Zealand. If you could put your hands on a. parcel, say, up to 00 tons, wo would like you to send us four tins as a sample. It might lead to business if you gave five matter attention!’
