CORRESPONDENCE Highways /Hom’d, asking that claims for. work doiio upto end of February should be made before Hie middle of March. Public Works Department, forwarding plans for overhead bridge at Ashliurst railway crossing and asking if Council is prepared to pay 13 per cent, of cost of same. Public Works Department, stating that the No. 7 Motor Omnibus District lias been reduced to its original boundaries. ; Highways Board, * forwarding authority for £-170 for \ alley road bridge. v Highways Board, asking Counties to accelerate expenditure of grants for construction works on main highways. Highways Board, stating that the annual review and declaration o! main highways’ in No. 0 and 10 districts will he made early in April. Highways Board., drawing attention to advertising hoardings placed near sharp, bends on main highways. Feilding Freezing Works, stating that where possible ca ttle ■ would be taken through ; the, Oroua river instead of over the Aorangi bridge. " ENGINEER’S REPORT Eastern Riding—Siberia road has been repaired and the water tables cleaned out, for its full length. The work of widening Raukawa dip has been practically completed. The Oft. by 4ft. culvert on Spur road has been completed. Western riding—Another 27 chains of lieu Reu road formation has been completed. An old wooden culvert on Tokorangi road lias been replaced with 2ft concrete pipes; the tilling at this point hit#'also been widened. The work of replacing the culvert ou the main Feildiiig-Halcombe road near Mr Fergusson’s property is now in hand/ Concrete pipes for replacing, three culverts on Reid’s Line have been delivered.
