SALTATION ARMY’S HEAD OFFICER OF WIDE EXPERIENCE Edward John Higgins, C.8.E.. who l:ps just been elected General of the Salvation Army, joined the Army at Reading, [J.K., n 1882, and was made Chief of staff in 191.9. He is Vice-chairman of the S.A. Assurance Society and Reliance Bank Ltd. His many appointments include divisional work in Great • Britain, second in Command of tlie International Training / Garrison,. London, the chief secretaryship of the MSA., the assistant Foreign Secretaryship at 1.H.Q., and Command of the Rritish Territory. The new General is a, forceful and convincing speaker. Mrs Higgins was for some years Women’s. .Social Secretary in the United States, and National Secretary of the Home League in the United Kingdom. Sip lias visited, in tlie service of the Array, North and South America., Canada, Japan, Korea, and China, also various Continental countries.
