fAn«t. and W.Z. Cable!. (R eceived 11 a.m.) Amsterdam, Fob. 11. There is an epidemic of fires throughout Holland owing to cold freezing the water supplies. The fire brigade was called out 00 times yesterday ;in. Amsterdam alone.
The well known theatre, the Flora., was. burned to the ground. The famous Town Hall at Lerden was burned down, priceless archives and numerable „ treasures being destroyed.
Fire brigades are helpless owing to the -freezing of the water pipes. Three other buildings were: burned at {Lerden, where the damage runs in hundreds of thousands of pounds.
