The well known theatre, the Flora., was. burned to the ground. The famous Town Hall at Lerden was burned down, priceless archives and numerable „ treasures being destroyed.

Fire brigades are helpless owing to the -freezing of the water pipes. Three other buildings were: burned at {Lerden, where the damage runs in hundreds of thousands of pounds.
