ASSAULT IN WANGANUI
WOMAN IN HOSPITAL
AN UNKNOWN ASSAILANT Miss Loss, a resi(lent of Arnmoho, was admitted to the Wanganui Hospital last night in a semi-conscious state. According to her" statement she was assaulted by a man on the pathway leading up to St. John’s Hill, at the head of Victoria Avenue, at about 9 o’clock. Tt appears that Miss .Ross was coming down the pathway after a visit to her sister, Mrs Morgan, on bt. John’s Hill, when she was accosted by a man and struck with a' stick. Some little while later; she was discovered lying on the path by another man, a Palmerston North visiter Wanganui. The niatter was reported to Constable O’Priend, of the St. John’s Police Station, and Miss Ross was removed to the hospital. She has injuries to her head, and it will he ascertained to-day, when an X-ray examination is to he made, whether there is a fracture of her skull. Her condition is not serious.
