(Per Press Association) Hawcra, Nov. 22. “That the association views with great seriousness the development ol , the system of selling goods on a small deposit, and that it considers a system whereby people are enabled to purchase articles valued from £lO upwards for a deposit of 2s Gd prejudicial to the interests of the trade, and that people are encouraged to live beyond their means.” This was the text of a. motion passed at a meeting of the South Taranaki Grocers’ Association, and is to be sent to the Government. The Chamber of Commerce and allied associations will be circularised asking for their support.
