The French Government's intention to sell St, Margaret’s isle, where “the man in. the iron mask’’ was imprisoned, lias aroused intense opposition in Cannes, as it is a great resort for tourists. The historic prisoner’s room is still shown. It is feared that the island may pass into the' possession of an American millionaire.
