James Revornall, a traveller, described “as having arrived from Australia on December 7 and being known to the police there, was charged at the .Magistrate’s Court with obtaining serge worth C 32 from George and Doughty by false pretences. He was not permitted to take the goods when he ordered them, hut later paid for them by cheque, which was dishonoured, he having opened no account in the hank and deposited €4 TOs. He was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment.
