QUESTIONS FOR MB COATES

Wheat control lias been the subject o fcorrespoiidenee between. Mr J. Brown, president of the mid-Canter-bury Executive of the Fanners’ Union and Mr Coates.
On December 3l Mr Brown telegraphed: “Re correspondence ' on. wheat control that has lately passed between the Minister of Agriculture and myself, as representing the growers, and the peculiar position that has arisen therefrpm, it would pave the way to better under.standin if you, as bead of,the 'Government, would kindly answer these questions: (1) Cabinet having decided not to control after the 192-5-26 season, is it its wish that the growers should have an opportunity to review the decision to control for this season in the light of the decision not to control in subsequent years? (2) If so, and a representative meeting is called, is it the intention of Cabinet to reconsider its decision .to control in 1925-20 if the decision of such a. meeting is unfavourable .to control? Mr Coates replied that, be ' va s coni-, immicafing with the Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. -b T. W . Nosworthy) and would reply later.
