Lord Harris, in an interview, disapproved of the suggestion that all county matches should be, suspended during the test games in anticipation of the visit of the Australians. It would not be advantageous to the game, lie said, and would be disastrous to the weaker counties. Why should England rest P The Australians will be playing equally hard, without the same number of players to call upon. He strongly opposed holding trial matches to help in the choice of England’s team. s
