ATTEMPT TO SALVE P. AND 0. BOAT’S TREASURE. ' ■ OVER £1,000,C00. Paris. The Union ties Enterprises Sousniarincs Company lias just contracted to make an attempt to salve the treasure on board the sunken P. and 0. mailboat Egypt, which went down nea r Ushant on May 20, 1922, after a collision with the s.s. Seine. The Egypt lies in 64 fathoms af .water. She carried a total of £539,0C0 in gold and £250,000 in .silver. The Egypt was outward bound for Bombay when she collided in a thick log with the French cargo steamer Seine some 12 miles off Ushant, and sank in about 20 minutes.
