(Per Press Association). Ipvercargilt, .March 27. The first clay of the Bainfiokl Fries* ian cattle sale was marked by .success. The weather was glorious aihi the attendance large, buyers coming from all parts of the Dominion. The ton price secured was; 625gns. for the Herd-book sire Woth-srlanTl Pietertye of Bainlield, the purchaser being Mr Wm. Bevan, of Manakau. The top,price for a female was for the 4-year-old cow Bain field Topsy 13, secured by Mr James Grant, of Gore, at 400gns. Other good prices were: Buffe, 110, 150; and 300gns. Females, 200, 210, 250~ 300, 310, and 400gns. Altogether, 102 lots realised a grand fetal of £10,550, an average of over £lO3 per head. The distribution of the first day's lot is: Southland 12, rest of the South Island 46, North Island 38, Australia 2, and Argentine 4 head.
