PROPOSED PURCHASE BY POWER BOARD. CONFERENCE YESTERDAY. At the invitation of the ManawatuOroiia Power Hoard, negotiations have been proceeding for some time, between special Committees representing the Power Board and the Fcilding Borough Council respectively regarding the Power Board's proposal to purchase the Fcilding electrical power plant and business. The special Commttecs met again in conference at Palmerston North yesterday. The Vowvv Board's representatives wore Messrs J. A. Nash, M.P. (Chairman of the 'Board). M. A. Elliott, P. J. Small, J. H. Vinfleut, and Sir James Wilson. The Fcilding Borough Council was represented by the Mayor (Mr J. S. Tingey) and CVs A. H. Sutton, 11. Stewart. V. E Smith and T. Pagan, and the Town Clerk (Mr A. E. Wilson). The conference wa.s not open to the public. It is understood, however, that the matter will he again referred to the respective bodies coneanicn.
