SPEED JUDGING

MOTOR CLUB COMPETITION. The Feilding Motor Club held a most successful. speed judging competition on Saturday. Thirteen competitors faced the starters, Messrs Benson and Cottrell, and a large number of interested people witnessed both start and finish. The first vehicle was sent off at 2.30, and the remainder following at two minute intervals. Some very good performances were put up, the following being the, results of the competition:— Nearest to time over whole course, 20.3 miles: Mr R. Reed, 40s error, 1; Mr M. Wilbore, .80s error, 2; Mrs W: B. Benson, 120 s error, 3. Nearest to time at secret check: Mr R. Reed, 30s error, 1; Mr R. Goldfinch, 60s error, .2; Miss F. M. Pearson, 90s errors, tie 3, Mr M. Wildbore, 90s error, tie 3. _ ~ Mr R. Reed won both trophies, and his performance for a competition of this kind was truly remarkable. The performance of Mr M. Wildbore is also.worthy of special momment, as he competed on a machine borrowed for the occasion, and with which he had had no opportunity to get familiar. Messrs Perry and Fish operated the secret check, and the Club is to bo congratulated on the manner in which their officials conducted this most interesting event, which was greatly enjoyed by all participating.
