Further heavy rains have fallen in the eastern part of tlie State, and there are indications of an extension of the rain to the far west. The Gov T> eminent meteorologist states there is every reason lo believe the drought will be broken this month and will be followed by good supplementary rains. (Received December 3, 1 p.m.) Syduey, December 3. Rains of a monsoonal character have fallen in some coastal districts over six inches being registered ; in a few -.dry .areas over two inches, and iv the wheat areas, with few exceptions, good falls, but this will not, benefit to the extent it would had the rain fallen a few weeks earlier.
