CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTOR.
"The conscientious objectors," stated the Defence Minister (the Hon. ,). Allen) yesterday, "arc required to sign a declaration that they arc willing to take an alternative service in place of war scrvico; and wo aro threshing out now what form that service shall take. It has been suggested that conscientious objectors should take up non-combatant work in and about tho camps, but some of them object to doing any work that has any connection at all with the war. At Homo, I know, such men have boon put to do road work, and so forth; but wo havo not decided yet what to do with them here."
