THE SUBMARINE.
NO WORD OF THE DEUTSCHLAND.
London. August 16,
Berlin reports that there has been no news of the Deutschland since she sailed from Chesapeake Bay on August 3. Herr Hohmann, director of the new transatlantic submarine line, states that the construction of seven liners took six months. It was difficult to obtain rubber and metals in America. Stores were obtained secretly, but the company secured enough for six voyages.
