(Received August 17. 10 a.m.) New York, August 16. A new British Joan is announced of 250,000.000 dollars (£50,000,000). for two years at 5 per cent. , (Received August 17. ]1.20 p.m.) [ New York. August IG. Messrs J. I , - Morgan and Co. announce the details of tin- loan, which u< dated /September 1. Britain has the option to redeem the whole or part with 30 days' notice at 101, plus accrued interest, until August 31, 1917, and thereafter at 100J-. Securities to the amount of 300.000,000 dollars must be approved by Morgan and Co. It is understood that the loan is chiefly to steady the rate of exchange.
