THE ZEPPELIN.
SEEN NEAR DUTCH COAST, TWO OF THE RAIDERS , CRIPPLED. FALSE GERMAN REPORT. [Reuters Telegram.]
London, August 3. Only two Zeppelins were seen returning over Holland, though four crossed on the way to England.
Amsterdam reports that Lll/flew over the coast, apparently damaged and not properly under control. The coastguards fired, and the Zeppelin disappeared westward with a heavy list. .
A German communique says: A large number of naval airships made attacks, with good results, on London, Vthe naval base at Harwich, and industrial establishments in Norfolk. Though fiercely bombarded, they all, returned unharmed.
The Press Bureau declares the communique to be untrue from beginning to end.
,Geneva. August 3. Two Zeppelins, one badly damaged, arrived at F'riedrichsafen by special train. [Australian-N.Z. Cable Association.] London, August 3. The Zeppelin attacks on the eastern and south-eastern counties did not penetrate far inland, except at one point. Bombs were dropped in widely distant localities, mainly near the sea. In conjunction with, this attack, two airships were seen to approach the Kent coast and drop bombs. Tho damage was ~ astonishingly small. Nino horses were killed. N The military object of the raid was not apparent.
