The Times correspondent at Rome states that the news about Montenegro is contradictory, but he say;, "tho country is clearly at the mercy of the Austi'iaus. The majority el the Montenegrins have perforce given up their arms. The Austrians have occupied San Giovanni, and another mixed "column of Bulgarians and Albanians is coming down tho Matja Valley. Numerous Serbs and Croats, pretending to bo seeking refuge in Montenegro from Herzegovina, .have been preparing in Montenegro for tho Austrians."
