Woodville, January 29. A cottage on the Napier road was burnt to the ground laet night, and the contents, including some money, were wholly lost, The house was occupied by Mr W. Stevens, an old :r*an of 62, with no family. During the Are he attempted to commit suicide y/nh a blunt knife, on the excuse that re had nothing to live for. He aoporred in Count t&is morning, and w r as remanded to appear at Napier in at Saturday.
