A GERMAN DEBACLE.

LAST NIGHT'S NEWS.

A DANGEROUS RETREAT.

Invaders in Haste to Quit France

German Legions on the Run.

The Allies Drive a Wedge Successfully

Russians Still Advance.

Australians Take New Guinea,

Last night's cable news more than confirms the great victory of the Allies and the rout of the Germans, who fought bravely but unavailingly. The question is whether the Germans will get home without further disaster, as Belgium is not available, 15,000 British troops having re-taken Brussels, and the Ardennes and Luxemburg being anything but good routes. The Allies are driving a wedge into the German positions, and their whole front continues to advance. Further outrages on priests and nuns in Belgium by the Germans are reported. Owing to the sudden fall of temperature, warm clothing is required for the troops. The Russian army is reported to ba splendidly equipped and very efficient, and continues its victorious march. The Australians have. taken German New Guinea. -
