Burglars stole jewels and silver valued at £400 from the residence of Mr Louis Charles Bernacchi, F.R.G.S., a noted explorer and scientist, and the son of a Tasmanian gentleman. Mr Bernacchi took part in the Southern Cross Antarctic expedition in 1898.
