He was warmly welcomed by a large gathering. at the station. Mr lusher waited on Lord Dudley, Governor-General, and accepted the commission to form a Ministry. The caucus of the Labour Party meets to-day. The new Ministers will be cnosen by ballot, and Mr Fisher expects to. announce the names of his colleagues before tho end of the week. Speaking on the Eight Hours Bill at a. luncheon, Mr Fisher declared that the Labour Party would not be vindictive to "the peril of any party or interest, but would cultivate .the friendship of the State Parliaments within their -proper sphere. It was gratifying to find that" the-naval'po-licy of tho Labour Party had heeh unreservedly accepted. '' '•' '■ Mr Fisher was disinclined to discuss the appointment of Colonel Kirkpatriek as Inspector-General of the Commonwealth forces, and considers that it ought not to be made a political question.
