A. AMD P. ASSOCIATION. MANAWATU SPRING SHOW RESULTS. FAT LAMBS-ON THE LONDON MARKET. The. Manawatu A. and V. 'Associution is in receipt of tlu> usual report on fat lambs shown in the wool at the- last Spring Show. 'The lambs wore .judged in the pens, slaughtered at Wellington, and sent Home through the Gear Meat Company for judging by Smith fie Id judges. ' Results are as .follows: — Class 259.—Five lambs, H. F. Arkwrkjht, pen 504, show award second prize. London, nil. These were too plain< Class 260.—Five lambs, G. Elliott, pen 509, show award v.h.c. London award first prize. These were very fine quality, short legs, and well covered (Southdown cross). Class 260.—Five, lambs, G. Elliott, pen 510, show 'award first prize. London award second prize. Tihese were of fine quality, short legs, and mostly well covered. One lamb was very choice (best carcase in the shipment). (Leicester cross.) •Class 260.—Five .lambs, J. A. Mitchell, pen 506, show award nil. LonI don award third, prize. These were of very fine quality, and for the size well covered. Wanted to be just a little thicker. Class 260.—Five lambs, G. Swainson, pen 508, show award third prize. London award fourth prize. These were of ver- good quality, meaty, and fairly well covered. Class 260.—Five lambs, N. Swainson, pen 507. show award second prize. London award fifth prize, x-.hese were of fair quality, three well finished, two rather plain Class 260.—Five lambs, C. Collis, pen 511, show award nil. London award sixth prize. Nice "uality. two well finished, three rather plain in the legs. Class 260.—Five lambs, H. F. Arkwright, pen 505, show award nil. London award seventh prize. Fair quality, but not finished. Class 260.—Five lambs, C. Collis, pen 512. show award h.c. London award nil. These were too thin and too plain. The variojis pens were sold at the following rates in the, Smithfield -market, from which must be deducted the total changes, which average 1.223 d per' lb. It should be noted the Smithfield stone is 81b. The Gear Meat Company generously undertook the shipment without charging their usVlal commission to the Association.
