The quarterly summoned meeting of Loyal Manchester Lodge, 1.0.0. F., M.U., -will be held this evening. The annual rally of the Rongotea Primitive Methodist Christian Endeavour Society .was celebrated last Sunday and Wednesday. The rally on Wednesday evening was run. conjointly with a farewell to the Rev. P. J. Cossum. Tea was laid on the tables at 6.30 and quite a large number sat down to partake of the good things provided. After the tea a public meeting was held, presided over by the R«v. D. B. F. Carlisle. The following Societies were represented and responded to the roll call: Feilding Baptist and Primitive Methodist, Halcombe Primitive Methodist, Bunnythorpe Methodist, and Palmerston Baptist and Methodist (Broad and Cuba Streets). Greetings were sent from Pohangina, Marton, and Ohingiti. The second of the series of gaorden parties (arranged by the Methodist Olruroh was held yesterday at the home of Mrs- Hammond, Waitohi, the heavy shower of rain that passed over the disfcrct early in tihe afternoon militating! against the attendance. About ipO persons attended and a most enjoyable afternoon, and evening was spent. Various games were "heartily enjoyed; the driving competitions were keenly contested, the prizes being won: Ladies, by Mrs Bethune; and gentlemen's by Mr Arthur Eglinion. Tea was dispersed on the lawn, and in the evening a concert was held, the following contributing items: Instrumentalists, Messrs J. Martin, J. Hensen, C. Penny, and AY. Penny: soloists, Miss AndWeon, Mesdames Befchune and Penny and Messrs J. Anderson, J. Sanson, J. Martm, and Mr" Geo. Gould. Tihe evening vns 'brought to a close by ,i hearty vote of thanks to Mrs Hammond, moved by the Rev. G. Frost and the singing" of "God Save the Kina."
