KIMBOLTON.
A FATAL ACCIDENT
MAN CRUSHED BY A FALL OF EARTH.
DIES IN THE HOSPITAL
Mr John Dcnipsey, who was admitted to the Palmerston Hospital on \\ ednesday from the Kimbolton district, suffering from very serious injuries, died shortly after admission. It appears the unfortunate man was working in a metal pit, when a tall of earth crushed him. The scene of the accident was some distance from the township, and his .mates bad to carry him three miles on a stretcher before reaching the main road. lie was then brought on in a motor car to Palmerston.
An examination at the Hospital showed he had sustained most painful and severe wounds. He had a compound fracture and dislocation of the ankle, a fracture of the leg just below tho knee, several ribs injured, and severe cuts about the head. He was also suffering from shock, and the case was considered almost hopeless from the first. Deceased was practically a stranger m the district. He ivas forty years of age, and unmarried.
