CUSS THE POSITION

The employers aire taking steps to meet the demands of the employees in the dairy industry, the main points of which were made public recently. Delegates from the dairy companies interested met in conference in Palmerston this afternoon. Thirty companies were represented, so that the gathering was a fully representative one of the industry in this part of tho province. The conference was a private one, and Mr A. McFarlane, chairman of the National Dairy Association, presided. The present award (made in August last) expires this month, and, in order to be prepared for whatever situation may arise, a committee was set up 'to make any steps it deemed necessary. The committee consists of Messrs McFarlane, Fisher, Whittaker, Bendall, Beattie, Wise and Fred. Nathan.
