PAHIATUA STOCK SALES.
Messrs Abraham and Williams report that at their weekly sale of live stock held yesterday at Pahiatua .there was a big entry of both sheep 'and cattle, the former numbering about SOOD. The tone of the market throughout was hard, and a good many of the sheep pens weie passed. Most of these, however, were afterwards sold privately. There was a good demand for young breeding ewes, all of which found a ready market. We quote: Sheep, twotooth ewes, lls Id, lls 2d, 12s 6d; 4 and 5-year ewes, 10s to 10s 6dj s.m. ewes, 7s 6d to 9s 103; shorn rape lambs, 8s; woolly lambs, 8s; cull lambs, 4s to 5s 9d Cattle: 2f-year steers, £3 5s to £3 10s; fat and forward cows, £2 10s to £8 8s 6d; fat cows, £3 19s to £t; store cows, £1 7s to £2; fat heifers, £4; yearling steers, £1 15s; yearling heifers, 18s 6d.
