Joseph Racke, an undergraduate of Bonn University and the son of *a millionaire of Mayence, went home to spend his Christmas vacation. He rose at 2 o'clock in the morning, of Christmas Day, stealthily stabbed to death his sleeping father and his three sisters; but the remainder of the household he left undisturbed. Racke then returned to his bed,, and slept until the discovery of the tragedy was made in the morning. When charged with the crime, lie attributed the acts to his father naving refused him large sums of money.
