WELLINGTON HIDE AND SKIN SALE.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows: — We held our usual sale of wool skins, hides and tallow on Friday afternoon. We offered a good catalogue of wool, and prices wore easier in sympathy with London market. Skins were also slightly in buyers' favour. We did not offer .any prime lines of hides. We quote as follows : — Wool — Merino, 6d to 63d per lb ; crossbred, 33d to sid ; lambs, 3Ad to -l id ; pieces, 3£d ; bellies, 2d ; locks, 1 Jd. Sheepskins — Crossbred, 4Jd jlambs, 3j|d to 4|d; broken and inferior, 2d to 2^dj crossbred, damp, Is 7d each. Hides — Ox, to 4jd per lb ; cow, 4d to 4£d per lb ; calf, 4Jd to oid ; yearlings, 3Jd to 3Jd. Tallow— None in casks offered ; in tins, 21s 6d to 21s 9d per cwt. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd.. report as under: — We submitted a fair-sized catalogue of wool, skins, hides, and a small lot of tallow. Since our last sale there has bee na heavy drop in London prices of wool and skins, and this was, of course, reflected in tho local sale to-day, but bidding was brisk at the lower range of values, and everything was cleared. We quote: — Wool — Coarse crossbred, inferior, 3|d to 4d ; lambs, medium, 5d to 6d ;, pieces, Id to 2sd. Sheepskins — Coarse and medium crossbred, 3id to 41 d ; dead and damaged, 2d to 3jd ; broken and seedy, Id to lsd ; dry pelts, sound, 2\d to 3^d ; dry pelts, damaged, Jd to 2d ; green pelts, Is 5d to 2s 4d; green lambs, Is to 2s 3d. Hides— ln fair demand at a slight decline on last sale rates. Wo sold— Light ox, 4d to 4£d; cow, 3^l to 4d; calf, sound, 4^d to 4|d ; calf, damaged, id to 4d. Tallow —In shipping condition, to 23s 6d per cwt.
