STOCK MARKET.

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Eketahnna sale, held on Saturday, as follows :— Owing to tho inclement weather prevailing in the district for the last few days, stock came forward considerably short of advertised numbers. However, what was yarded met with a spirited sale, with an upward tendency, prices realised throughout being in favour of vendors, a very satisfactory sal© resulting. Wo passed a line of 320 wethers at auction, which were subsequently sold. With this exception, the whole of tho sheep were disposed of under the hammer. The number of cattle yarded was limited, and difficult to quit. Prices realised were as follows: — Sheep: Two-tooth wethers 11s 9d to 12s 6d, Down wethers 11s Id, good sound-mouth breeding ewes 9s Id to 9s 3d, aged ewes 6s 3d to /s Id, low-conditioned ewes 4s to 4s 9d, shorn lambs 6s 3d. aged Lincoln rams ljgs to 2|gs. Cattle: .Store bullocks in low condition £3 sa. Dalgoty ami Co.. Ltd., report on tlioir Ekctahuna sale, on Saturday. as follows: — The advertised number of sheep did not come forward, owing to settlers not being able to din. Still wp had a targe yardinji of both sheep and cattle. Bidding was good for all sorts that showed any quality. We quote: — Four and five-year breeding ewes to 10s 6d, cull ewes 2s 9d to 4 S 6d, 2 and 4-tooth wethers to lls lid, shorn lambs to 7s lid, cull lambs 2s to 3s, fat ewes 12s 6d, 2-tooth Lincoln rams to 4|u;ns, 2-tootb Romney rams to 2gns, aged rams from 14s Gd to lgn. Pigs: A laiiro entry, but dull of sale; wraners'os to os 3d. Cattle: 2* to 3year steers to £4, 18-month steers to £2 3s, cows in milk £4 2s. Dogs to 20s. Wo also report having held our Alfredton sale on Thursday March 26. There was a fair yarding, but owing to a steady downpour of rain, bidding was slack. On Wednesday, 25th, wo held a clearing sale on account of Mr F. Aslin, on his farm at Scarborough. Although it was a very wet day, settlers turned up well, and the result, considering tho season, was very satisfactory to the vendor. Cows close on dry up to £6 10s, average of hord £3 ]4s 2d ; store pigs 275, 6ow with litter £3 10s: snrine oart £12 10s.
