CORRESPONDENCE.

CRUELTY TO ANIMALS. TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — I wish to draw attention to a bad case of cruelty to animals at present existing in Feilding. Several storo cows have been left m Gorton's paddock on the Kawakawa Road for the past week with absolutely nothing to eat, the ground being quite bare. The result, as may be guessed, is that one of the poor brutes died yesterday, and it is only a question of time when tho others may do likewise. This is not tho first time stock have been left in accommodation paddocks around this locality sometimes for a week, with nothing in tho sliape of feed, aiwl dead sheep liavo been left lying upon the ground to decay, until some bachelors in tho neighborhood have gone out with axes and fire shovels and buried them, thus getting rid of an offensive smell. Trusting tlio S.P.C.A. will look into the matter.— l am, etc., One of the Bachelobs.
