Abraham and Williams, Ltd., Feilding office, report on sale held here yesterday: — We had a heavy yarding of sheep; very few cattle came forward. There was a good demand for young breeding ewe's and good lambs. Low conditioned aged ewes were hard to quit. There was a fair attendance, and we quitted the bulk of our entry. Quotations : — Sheep. — Fat wethers, 15s lid; fat ewes, 13s to 14s 3d; 2-tooth wethers. 10s, 10s 2d to 12s 4d; small 2-tooth ewes, 9s, 10s, 10s 4d to 10s 8d; sound-mouth ewes, 5s Bd, 7s 3d to 9s ; crocks Is 7d, Is 9d to 2s 6d; good rape wether lambs, 8s 6d; medium mixed lambs, 6s to 6s 6d ; cull lambs, 2s 3d, 3s 2d to 3s 7d. Cattle. — Forward bullocks, £6 Is; fat cows, £4 Is ; 2-year forward empty heifers, £2 12s 6d; low conditioned store cows, 14s 6d to 16s 6d; cows with calves, £3 10s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report: — Apiti Sale. — We had a large entry of sheep and cattle at Apiti sale on Tuesday. 17th inst. Bidding showed a decided lack of animation. We, however, eventually succeeded in quitting a very fair proportion of the yarding. Prices, however, were quite on a par with down country sales. Quotations : — Sheop.— Fat ewes, 10s 2d; mixed lambs, 2s 6d, 3s 9d, ss, 5s 9d, 6s, 6s 6d; 4-tooth ewes, 14s 6d; 2-tooth wethers, 10s to 11s; 2-tooth to f.m. ewes, 10s ; 6-tooth to f.m, ewes,, 5s 6d ; 2-tooth Romney rams, 18s to 225 ; 2tooth Lincoln rams, 30s. Cattle. — Mixed weaners, 16s 6d ; fat cows, £3. Feilding. — At Feilding on Friday we had a very heavy yarding of sheep. Owing to the wet weather, the attendance of buyers was small,* and a dragging sale resulted. We were successful in placing the bulk of our yarding at prices somewhat in favour of purchasers, and very few lines were turned out unsold. Quotations : — Sheep. — Cull ewes, Is 7d to 3s; s.m. ewes, 6s to 6s 9d ; cull 2-tooth ewes, 8s ; 4-year ewes, lls to 13s 3d ; 2-tooth ewes (small), 10s lOd; cull lambs, 2s 9d ; good lambs, 5s 6d to 6s 6d; rape lambs, 7s lOd; fat and forward ewes, 12s. Messrs A. H. Atkinson and Co., Ltd., report: — On Wednesday we held a clearing sale of stock, etc., at Dunolly, Waituna West, on behalf of the trustees in the late Mr Wm. McDougall's estate. Considering prices ruling since the sale, the sale was most satisfactory, excepting for the high-class horses offered, which did not make high prices. Quotations : — Horses. — Aged draught mare, £5 ; yearling filly, £6 10s; 2-year draught gelding, £5 2s 6d; yearling colt, £6 8-year-old draiight mare and foal, £55; 2-year colt, £11 10s; 2-year-old filly, £13 13s ; 3-yeargelding, £14 10s ; 6-year gelding, by Wallace, £24. Sheep. — 2-tooth ewes, 15s 2d; f.f. mouth ewes, 6s 4d ; 4-tooth ewes, 14s 9d ; 2-tooth wethers, lls lid ; mixed lambs, 5s 7d ; rams, 8s 9d to 12s. Cattle. — Weaners, small, 8s ; weaner steers, 20s; cows, dry, £1 2s 6d, £2 7s 6d; cows, in milk, £1 7s 6d, £2, £2 10s.
