Dnnedin, May 29. At Burnside stock sales to-day 2220 shoep were penned. There was a heavy yarding of sheep of medium quality, with a few pens of medium quality wethers. Owing to the heavy yarding there was a dragging sale throughout, and prices for all classes receded from Is to Is 6d on lust week's rates. Quotations: — Best wethers 23s to 245, extra to 26s Ctl, medium from 19s to 20s 6d, light 13s to 15s 6d, extra heavy ewes to 245, good 19s to 21s, medium to good 15s to 19s. Lambs— l2oo penned. There was a heavy entry in lambs. These were made up of good quality med-ium-weights, with several pens of extra heavy-weights. The sale was erratic, some pens selling at quite up to late rates, others showing a slight decline. Unfinished sorts met with a poor market, and it was with the utmost difficulty that a bid could be got for them. Quotations : — Best lambs 18s to 19s, extra to 20s 3d, medium lls to 14s 6d, others 9s to Us. Pigs— l4s yarded. The yarding was small, and the quality offered was not quite so good as last week. In consequence the bidding was not so spirited as last week, and inferior sorts were extromely difficult to quit. First-class quality brought prices equal to late values. For larger sorts bidding commenced slow, but improved towards the finish. Quotations: — Suckers 5s to 8s 6d, slips 9s to 17s, stores to 235, porkers from 28s 6d to 40s, baconers 40s to 60s, heavy baconers to 675, choppers to £3 17s 6d. Cattle— l 62 yaided. There was a heavy yarding of medium quality, nothing exceptional being offered. Rest bullocks sold up to £10, medium to good to £9 ss, light from £6 to £7, best heifers £5 10s to £7 10s.
