MANAWATU RUGBY UNION.
The Management' Committee of the Rugby Union met at Palmerston last evening. A transfer bf a player named Brisco from the Hui Mai to Palmerston Club was granted. From N.Z. Union, intimating that McNae had been selected in the North Island team and forwarding agreement for signature. A complaint was received regarding the Awahuri ground, and it was deceided to ask the Hui Mai Club to mark ground out, otherwise it would be disqualified. j A request was received from the Referees' Association asking that the police aid be secured to keep the line clear on No. 2 ground. — Decided that referees should stop games immediately the spectators encroached. Permission was granted to the Kia Toa thirds to play a match at Wanganui on June 3. A protest was received from the Kia Toa Club against a win of Palmerston on Saturday on a point of law. — The appeal was dismissed, the rules being quite clear on the matter. It was decided to write to Foxton sub-Unio.n suggesting that the Manawatu rep. team journey to Foxton on June 22nd. The matter of a match with Horowhenua was held over pending arrangements for representative matches. Mr E. Wingate, Hui Mai Club, was elected to the vacancy on the Management Committee An application from Palmerston Club for permission to play Poneke on June 3rd, on the Showground, prior to the seven-aside tournament, was granted. The following teams were nominated for the seven-aside tournament : — Ponoke, Oriental, Kia Toa (2 teams), Old Boys (2 teams), Hui Mai. (2 teams), Albion (Foxtop), High School, Palmerston (3 teams), Feilding (2 teams).
