! MARKET REPORT. Harry Palmer and Co., Palmerston, ■eport an exceptionally big entry of pigs and poultry at their usual Satuiday market. The quality of pigs offered was good. There was a keen demuL-d for good baconers and porkers. Stores and slips found read/ buyers. Weaners were inclined to drag, although only 'one line was returned unsold — in this reserves were too high for buyers. There is an excellent demand for all lines of poultry. Ducks and turkeys are scarce, and met with a readv sale at payable prices. We quote : — Weaners, 10b, 7s, 5s 6d, ss; slips and stores ,21s, 18s 6d, 16s 6d, 14s. lis 6d. Porkers and baconers, 335, 29s 6d, 245, 225; 2 breeding sows it £3 2s eaoh. Geece, 3s 6d each. Gobblers, 10s 6d to 7s 6d each; hen turkeys. 6s to 3s 6d each. Ducks, 5s 6d, 4f1.9d, 4s 6d, 4s 3d. Table cockerels, fis, 4s 6d, 4s; -smaller sorts, 4s to 3s; puUets, 6s to 3s Id; hens, mixed, 4a to 2s 9d, all at per pair. A few lines of good cockerels sold at from 4e to 3s each. The demand for good lines of produce is firm and prioes are now inclined to harden Table potatoes, 9s to 12s per sack: Sig potatoes, 3s 6d to 2s 6d. Swedes, i 6d to 2s 6d; carrots, 3s 6d to 2s 6d; cabbage, 2s 6d; cauliflowers, small, 2s 6d ; onions, Id per lb ; pi tilers, l|d. Apples, Id t- 2d; pears, Id to 2d. Pumpkins, 5s to Cs. Hams and bacon, 7_d to Bd. ' Rabbits, Is per pair. Grain guotati^ns remain unchanged.
