WELLINGTON WOOL, SKIN, AND HIDES SALE.
The usual fortnightly Bales of wool, skins, hides, and tallow were held in Wellington on Friday by Dalgety and C, Abraham and Williams, N.Z.L. and M.A. Co., Levin and Co., and Murray, Roberts and Co. There was a good attendance of buyers, and competition was, on the whole, keener. For wool and skins late prices | were maintained, while hides showed a slight appreciation in value. Prices realised : — Wool— Crossbred fleece, medium B}d to 9d; coarse 8d to 9*d, seedy and wasty 8d to BJd, orutchings 6|d to 7d, locks and pices 3Jd to 6)d; lambs, medium 7d to 7|d. Skins— Merinos 7d to Bd, fine crossbred B}d to 9d. coarse 8d to B*d ; lambs, woolly B}d ; lambs shorn 7Jd to 9d, short and inferior 7d to Bd, seedy halfbreds 62 d, damaged 6d to 7|d; green skins 4s to 6s lOd, green lamb skins 3s 6d to 4s 2d, goatskins lid to 2s 3d. Hides— Ox, extra heavy 6Jd to 6}d, medium s|d to sid; cow, good medium ssd to 6|d. inferior 5d to sfd, damaged 3d to 5Jd; calves 6d to 7jd, damaged Id to sd. Tallow— 26s 9d to 26s 9d per cwt, inferior 20s 6d to 22s per cwt.
