Dividends, £2 and £3 Bs. Connolly Handicap, 1 mile and a distance — Marguerite 1, Waitapu 2, Delania 3. Paritutu, Armistice, King Billy, Regulation, St. Joe, Lyrist, Chatterer, Biro, and Maharanui also started. Won by a short head. Time, lmin 59sec. Dividends, £3 12s and £5 15s. Puma Hack Flat, 1 mile— lrish Rifle 1, Compass 2. Swimming Belt 3 Stayboy, Turkish Maid, Gaiety, Lingerer, Honyhnhmn, Somali, The Dane, Dear Dolly, Anemone, First Foot, Waione, Lady Adair and Lantern also started. Won by two lengths, a neck separating second and third. Time, lmin 44 3-osec. Dividends, £11 17s and £7 13s. Narcissus, when he fell in the Wanganui Steeplechase, broke his neck. The sum of £11,913 was invested in the totalisator, an increase of £1121 on the corresponding day last year.
