Wanganui, May 24. Though heavy rain fell throughout the night, daylight broke fine, but showers threaten. The attendance is large and ithe track is none the worse for the rain. Winter Oats.-rChatterer . 1, Delania 2, Regulation 3. All started. The start was a bad one, Flimsnap, Armistice and Waipaku being left at the post. Volume and King Billy were leadin gat six furlongs from the post, where Volume fell. Won by a couple o flengths. Time, lmin 44 2-ssec. Dividends,' £13 7s and £1 12s. Grandstand Steeplechase — Waitarere 1, Slow Tom 2, Ecliar 3. Hikairoa also started. Won by a donzen lengths. Eclair and Hikairoq fell, but were remounted and finished. Time, smin 11 3-ssec. Dividend, £3 6s. Balgownie Hack — Waitapu 1, The Dane 2, Compass 3. Scratched: Barley. Won easily. Time, 2min 3 2-ssec.
