WANGANUI PRESBYTERY.

--- ♦ The Ppesbytery of Wanganui met yesterday at Mangaweka when there were present Revs. Merton, McCully, Boss, Bndd, 'flail Hutson and Gordan and Mr R. E. Simpson. Apologies from Revs Ryburn and Jolly, Messrs Mcßeth, A. 6. Simpson, and J. H. Murray were sustained. Death of the Rev. J. Doull — Revs. Gordon, McCully and Ross were appointed a oommittee to draw up a suitable minute re the late Mr Doull, and to report to next ordinary meeting. Grant to Taihape. — Mr Ross reported that the Taihape church was now free of debt, and asked leave to borrow from the Century Fund another £60 for the Manse building. — Leave was given. The Presbytery then proceeded to ordain and induct the Rev. J. H. Gunn to the pastoral charge of Mangaweka. Mr Hutson conducted divine service, after which Mr Merton, Moderator of Presbytery, put the prescribed questions and ordained Mr Gtrari. Mr Gordon gave a brief address full of wisdom to the newly-ordained minister, and Mr Budd addressed the congregation on its privileges and duties. The church was full, people having come from all the neighbouring parts to witness the ceremony. Mr Gunn enters his work under very favorable auspices. In the evening a welcome social was held.
