SATURDAY'S MATCHES.

After a week of fine weather, rain commenced to fall on % Friday night, and continued at intervals up to noon on Saturday, as a consequence of which the grounds on the Racecourse were somewhat sloppy for the games played there. Palmerston and Feilding (Seniors) occupied No. 1 ground, while Old Boys and Feilding (Thirda) took No. 2. Interest, of course, was centred in the Senior match, and a large number of spectatoTs v including a good sprinkling of the fair sex, wore treated to a fine game. The crowd was an impartial one, good play on either side being applauded. About half-way through the second spell, W. Thompson, a Feilding forward, had the misfortune to have the small bone of his right leg broken, through a Palmerston player falling on him.
