FEILDING WOOL, SKIN AND HIDE SALE.
A. H. Atkinson and Co. report: — At our monthly sale on Thursday we offered 14 bales and 60 bag lots of wool, 1700 skins, 300 hides, 16 casks and 70 tins of tallow and usual sundries. There was a good attendance of buyers. The wool consisted entirely of rough lots and sold well up to the market. A few small lots ot early crutchings came in and mack 1 up to 6_d. A drop in skins was expected, and prices realised must be considered satisfactory. Hides leclined from |d to Id in sympathy with the fall in Australian markets. Tallow showed slight improvement. Quotations : — # Wool. — Medium crossbred BJd to 9d, cotted and dingy 7sd to Bd, black 7d to 7_d, lambs 8d to Bsd, crutchings 6d to 6Jd, locks and pieces 2d to 52d. Skins. — Full wools B|d, shorts to half-wools 8d to B_d, inferior and broken 6d to 7|d, lambs Bjd, broken 6d to 7d, dead s|d to 6_d, damaged 4d to Gd, sound pelts 7|d, inferior 3Jd to 6_d, butchers' half-dry shotrts and half-wools 2s 6d to 5s 7d, do. lambs 4s to os. Hides. — Medium ox sJd> light 4|d to 4Jd, damaged 3.d to 4_d, medium cow 4|d to sd, light 4_d to 4|d, damaged 3_d to 4d, bulls 3fd, calf sound 7d, damaged 2£d to sd, horse 6s to 6s 3d. Tallow, etc. — In casks: butchers' mixed £23 10s to £25 10s per ton; in tins, 20s cwt, inferior lis 6d cwt. Horsehair ls 5d per lb. Bones 3s 6d per cwt.
