MAORI MEETINGS.

[PKB PRESS ASSOCIATION.} Auckland, May 16. tm. the re-assembling of the Maoris at Waahi yesterday, Kaihau made a resolution placing the appointment of ! an Executive Committee in the hands of Mahutu. This meeting with opposition, he said, one quarter of the Maori population supported him, and if the others would not co-oper-ate, he would personally complete the object of the meeting. When asked how he could accomplish the union without three-fourths of the Maori population, Kaihau said. "My strength is union under King Mahutu. With 20 of the supreme to assist, I will not go back. I will go forward. Though nothing is definitely fixed, what is stated to be a self-ap-pointed committee will evidently hold sway on their actions. Having the support of the majority of those present, the concerted union has apparently resolved itself into a triumvirate comprising Mahuta, Kaihau and Taingakawa.
