FEILDING TECHNICAL SCHOOL.
Th:> monthly meeting of the Feilding Technical School Committee was held last night. Mr J. W. Bramwell was voted to the chair, in th<3 absence of Mr Goodbehere, from whom an apology was received. The Directors report stated that during the month the attendance had ixon as follows: — Feilding, 17 classes, J!9 nupils; Kimbolton, 1 class, 15 )>rpils; Haleombe, 1 class, 10 pupils; C >I.v'.oj), 1 class, 8 pupils; Ashhurst, d classes, 68 pupils; total, 26 classes * 0 pupils. Classes were being f;; rmed at Rongotea and Bunnytl:;>rpe. Mr Gabites had resigned a« instructor of the painting classes, a:.d Miis Drew was carrying on the work. Mr Isapc, Technical School Ii specjor, visited the classes and, anongsi other things, objected to the araunt-ancy class bet tig run through B inks, and stated the Department would not recognise the class. Mr I ickering, instructor, had resigned, and the Director was himself conducting tho olnss. As all the students were satisiied with the class, and it was costing the Department nothing, j tho Director saw no reason why the class should be abandoned. The Director was instructed to write to the Wanganui Education Board, pointing out the desirability of keeping on the accountancy class. Mr Amoe announced his intention of visiting Pohangina, to try and work up classes there. The Chairman and^ Director were appointed a sub-committee to wait on the coach proprietors, and ask for reduced fares for technical instructors.
